You've got to Feel it to Heal it! What if?

While Self - Reflecting one day I realized how often I try to run away from my uncomfortable feelings.
T.V. and movie binging, overeating, nicotine, over sleeping, my list goes on and on.
What if? What if I could just be with these feelings of sadness, grief and despair? What if, in these moments of feeling truly unlovable, I could simply hold myself in the highest, most compassionate embrace.
NOT to try to fix it but to simply hold space for it.
I can answer this "What if" right here and now.
These feelings do eventually dissolve and even better, instead of being stuffed down into your tissues, only to rear their ugly heads later on in the form of metal and/or physical health issues. You have exposed them to your consciousness, your light. You have acknowledged them.
The one question of all time that has been asked over and over again in various forms.
"What do people really want?"
1. To be listened to
2. To be understood
3. to be regarded (acknowledged)

What if I could truly love myself at the most precise moment when I am feeling unlovable?
The answer is that this would shake up, unearth and dismantle the false belief that "I am unworthy."

An exercise in Feeling the discomfort:
Do a mental scan of where this feeling may have located itself in your body.
Is it in my chest? My heart area?
My neck?
Use your breath to reach this area. Breathe into it. Focus on the area without trying to heal or judge. Just be with it. You may want to cry, please do. Allow it to release itself, by itself.

Recommended books would be The Presence Process by Michael Brown, videos and lectures by Eckhart Tolle and many others.

"Savoring" a therapeutic tool for increasing Happiness

Savoring, a tool for expanding Happiness.

A lot of Artists 🎨use this tool unconsciously.

When we have a pleasurable experience we can increase our Joy by thinking about this experience again and again.

Many photographers experience this when in the creative process of planning, traveling, taking  photos then looking over the pictures that they have created when they get home to their studios.

A vacation can be easily savored by planning and investigating the details of what you'd love to do while on vacation. By being completely mindful on vacation,  that is, enjoying every morsel, is also savoring this experience.  You might as well stay home if your mind is going to be on work.

Afterwards by reflecting on the vacation through blogs, pictures and notes  we bring awareness of how lovely it all worked out and re-create the joy over and over again.

We are not naturally positive creatures.  Bad experiences have been noted to outweigh good ones.

By practicing savoring,

we can re-train our brains to help us become happier and have more satisfying lives.

The Power of Dreaming

“Dreams are the royal road to the unconscious.” Sigmund Freud.

If we do not pay attention to our dreams we throw away the opportunity to gain a wealth of knowledge and to access greater universal wisdom.
I personally have been writing my dreams down for many years. I bought a home and a car based on dreams that I had.
Dreams are truly insightful and a direct connection to a higher consciousness.
If you want to enhance your intuitive powers you can simply do so by following those whispers in the night.
There were times when I wrote down the dream in the morning and that evening I would have an enlightened moment of intense clarity of what that dream meant.
Some of the biggest decisions of my life were highly influenced by my dreams.
You miss an enormous opportunity  by not paying attention to your dreams.

Don't throw away the golden key.
Follow those whispers in the night.

The Stairs Metaphor in Hypnosis

One of the most widely used and accepted metaphors to induce and deepen Trance State is a stairway.
A stairway is a powerful internal symbol.
As you are given the suggestion to mentally descend down a staircase by your hypnotherapist  what naturally happens is that your subconscious reaches down into deeper and deeper feelings of relaxation and openness.
Trance-State is nothing miraculous.  We slide in and out of trance daily.
A mundane chore such as doing the dishes can induce Trance.
The purpose of the hypnotherapist is to merely be a guide to your own natural ability for self hypnosis.  Some say that all hypnosis is really self- hypnosis.
The guide uses his or her gently lulling voice and your own powers of imagination to take you to an inner place where you can effect changes for your benefit. The stairway metaphor is a soothing and wonderful way to accomplish this.
More on this theme in other articles.
Thank you to my loving sister, a professional photographer, at:
for this gorgeous fall photo of a stairway.

Addiction to Adrenaline and its withdrawal. How can I adjust my energy to this new calming?

Things are changing now and a new calming is near at hand.
Whether we have become aware of it or not, we have all been in a state of trauma. To some this may be extreme trauma.
Losing jobs, staying at home, fear of the unknown, fear of illness. (contracting Covid) and the unearthing of deeper inner issues triggered by this stress.
My trigger has been the heat of this summer.
We had just experienced the longest, hottest consecutive days of over 100 degrees in the desert where I now live.
For aprox 150 days I had been in extreme survival mode.
It is cooling now, finally, and I've had to ask myself why I'm feeling more tired than ever?
The answer came to me. I am experiencing adrenaline withdrawal.
How can I go through this process in the best way?
How can I adjust to a new calming energy?
As stated before one very powerful tool in hypnosis is asking the question how.
The unconscious mind will always respond to a "How?" by subliminally seeking the answers.
I'm sitting outdoors, with my bare feet on the earth and writing this article.  I feel the grounding of the earth and the healing that journaling provides.  I also know that deep diaphragmatic breathing is helpful.
Knowledge is power and knowing where this feeling of unease is coming from is of ultimate use to me.

Taking the higher Road or Path.

What "taking the higher road" means to me.
Be it a road, a path, a shift in my thoughts, a surge of energy, taking the higher path is changing the direction of my own inner dialogue.
Paths could represent  neural pathways.
In simple terms, we create pathways in our brains by our habit of thought. These roads lead to a higher or lower place on the vibrational scale. For example the well known expression "Everything happens for a reason." can help change the pathways  of a negative thought.
This expression can Open a Doorway to the possibility that whatever occurs in your life,  that may not at first seem positive, may have a higher purpose.
There are many such uplifting expressions. Here is one by Dr. Suess:

“Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think and twice as beautiful as you’ve ever imagined.”
